Our hydro-mulch dyes are formulated to color hydro-mulch for hydro seeding efficiently and cost effectively. Our mulch dyes are concentrated, and our excelsior pigments are appropriate when extended stability to sunlight is required.
About Hydro-Seeding and Its Benefits
Grass or virtually any erosion control seed can be hydro seeded. This includes native grasses, wildflowers, roadside mixes, erosion control mixes, shade lawn seed, athletic field mixes and pasture mixes. Hydro-seeding mulch helps keep the soil moist to enable the seed to germinate quickly. Hydro-Seeding contains the seed mix, fertilizer, tackifier and dye and is sprayed on the ground. The slurry can be transported by truck or helicopter. Chromatech offers color matching services and provides specific shades of green to meet customer requirements.
Hydro-seeding over dry seeding provides quicker germination, better seed to soil contact, uniform application, better moisture retention and is easier to keep in place in difficult places such as hillsides. Hydro seeding is less expensive than laying sod and requires less watering than sod.
